Timeline

Yume is a world in the grip of flux. What was once forbidden is now necessary, and what was once undiscovered territory is rapidly being explored.

For thousands of years, many of the races of Yume existed in small, separate groups that grew and formed highly distinct cultures. As they began to spread, however, conflicting ideologies resulted in tension that built and eventually escalated into war. The War of the Roses is so named for the deadly Midnight Rose, created by the famed Sorceress Lashana, who mixed magic with weaponry to form a creation so deadly that even the Gods themselves feared to stand against it.

Consumed by grief and rage, Lashana unleashed her creation against those who she believed to have caused the death of her beloved mate and their families. Thousands of innocents where killed in the process, and the Midnight Rose quickly outstripped Lashana’s ability to control it. Already weakened by infighting and years of conflict, many tribes and civilizations where wiped out entirely by what was quickly becoming a world wide war.

Disconcerted and angered by the constant bickering, the Divine Rulers stepped in with a plan. Joining their powers, they split the bickering races across the five continents of Yume. The Humans where exiled to Yabai for their crimes, as many of the horrific slaughters of the War of the Roses could be directly attributed to their devices and interference.

Currently, 200 years after the continents where sundered, many races are beginning to pick up the pieces. Scattered tribes have joined to form new alliances and civilizations, and those who where once oppressed or ignored are swiftly stepping up to fill the holes left in the political landscape. It is an age of change- with new tribes being created, new magic being discovered, and beings beginning to explore the new lands created by the gods, Yume is a world created anew.
